Destined 2 Dance was created by studio owner, Jana Warren, because she has always felt the desire to teach others to express themselves through the art and discipline of dance. With the recent retirement of her previous studio, Destined 2 Dance was also created to fulfill the need of the dance world in the North Muskegon area.

On a special note, the current staff have danced together for over ten years. They are in sync with each other’s movements and have continued to seek opportunities to dance and perform, even if it is just for their children! Get to know our staff below.
Jana Warren

Jana started dance at the age of two and a half and has been dancing ever since. She went to Grand Valley State University where she continued her education and love of dance in ballet, jazz and modern along with tap and hip hop at her home studio. She has been trained in and passed the Cecchetti ballet method through student grade IV. She continues to take master classes in all forms of dance in Grand Rapids and Chicago where she recently took classes at Gus Giordano Dance School and Danza Dance Intensive.
For the past 23 years, Jana has been teaching dance, including competitive dance. She has also choreographed for local schools including her alma mater, Muskegon High School’s color guard and North Muskegon’s choir for their fall, winter and Pops concerts. She also has had the pleasure of being in eleven Muskegon Civic Theater productions and choreographing eight of them. Most recently she choreographed for the 2017 production of “Mary Poppins.”
Leah Dekker

Leah is a third generation dancer and is the granddaughter of “Montague’s own Fred Astaire” Buddy Sika and Sika school of dancing owner Carlotta Sika Hutch. She has been dancing from the age of 4 and grew up dancing in her family’s dance studio. Leah’s dancing career is mostly influenced by her grandma Carlotta and naturally she started to teach and has been doing so for 17 years.
Leah is formally trained in the Cecchetti ballet method, earning through student grade IV and most recently her teachers Grade I certification. Leah has also has been trained and teaches in jazz, tap and hip hop. She also has a love of fitness and is a certified FIT4MOM instructor and teaches for FIT4MOM Holland.
Leah currently resides in Holland with her husband Chris and their adorable kids Keeley and Cameron and two lovable Huskies.
Jessi Holden

Jessi started dancing at five years old and assistant teaching/teaching in her teens/early twenties. She danced competitively for several years, has performed in three musical theater productions with Muskegon Civic Theater, continued to study dance at Central Michigan University, and loves helping others increase their confidence through dance. She is trained in the ballet Cechetti method, loves pointe, tap, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, and contemporary.
Jessi currently resides in Muskegon with her husband Steve, their kids Lincoln and Parker and their cat Sofie. Professionally, she is a family focused culinary registered dietitian and she has a food blog, The Kitchen Invitation that can be found here. Jessi enjoys spending time with her family, friends, board games, running, and cooking/developing new recipes.
Erin Blacquiere

Erin, like all the teachers has been dancing since she was little. She started teaching dance just after graduating high school but took a little break from teaching dance to focus on getting her degree in Early education. We are excited she is back teaching, and teaching the littles of course! Erin is educated in many methods of dance including ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. Erin has recently moved back to the area and resides in the Fruitport area with her two beloved dogs Gizmo and Toby!
Bethanie Swier

Dance is an enjoyable part of Bethanie’s everyday life. She has been dancing since she was three years old and began teaching dance while in high school. She earned her BA in Dance Education from Hope College and her M.Ed. in School Counseling from Grand Valley State University. Her Master’s Thesis Project was on Social Emotional Learning through Dance. Bethanie enjoys sharing her love of dance with others and has taught dance in studio and public school settings. She has also choreographed numerous musicals. In addition to teaching dance classes, Bethanie also teaches movement exercise classes for adults here at D2D.
Bethanie resides in Norton Shores with her husband and two teens. She and her husband own True You Coaching and Counseling in North Muskegon, where they help individuals along the journey toward wellness. Bethanie enjoys combining all of her professional studies and experiences to help others as well.
Angie Greve

Angie started dancing at 3yrs old and assistant teaching and teaching in her late teen years. She taught at her home studio for 10 yrs and have taught in other studio and church settings as
well. She is Cecchetti trained through student grade 4 and teachers grade 1. Angie prefers lyrical, liturgical, ballet and tap but is trained in jazz as well.
Angie resides in Whitehall with her husband and 3 girls (Miracle, Isabella and Savannah). She is a stay at home mom who also does daycare for family members. In her free time she likes
baking, reading, playing card/board games and enjoying the outdoors. Her absolute favorite thing is tight hugs!!!
